The City of Leesburg is providing limited funding this year for civic organizations that serve the local community.
Not-for-profit groups can contact the city at 352-728-9786, ext. 1100, to request applications or information. Applications also are available at www.leesburgflorida.gov.
All applications must be submitted to the Leesburg City Manager’s Office by 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30. Mail documents to P.O. Box 490630, Leesburg, Fla., 34749-0630, or visit Leesburg City Hall, 3rd Floor, at 501 W. Meadow St.
Applications must include the group’s most current Annual Financial Report and proof of not-for-profit status pursuant Florida Statutes Ch. 617. Organizations that received funding last year must submit new applications.
Applicants must supply nine copies of any supplemental information provided in addition to the grant application and supporting documents. All documentation must be submitted in hard copy. Electronic submissions will not be accepted.
The City Commission will consider funding allocations at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 14 in the Commission Chambers at Leesburg City Hall. Organizations that submit a completed application with all required documentation by the deadline date will be invited to make a short presentation up to ten minutes long.
Leesburg is a progressive city of more than 21,000 residents in northwest Lake County. The city government serves twice as many people with its electric, gas, water, wastewater and fiber-optic public utilities.
