Leesburg facilities to close for Veterans Day and Bikefest

     LEESBURG, FL – All City of Leesburg offices will close on Thursday, November 11 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday. Several downtown facilities will also close on Friday, November 12 and through the weekend due to activities associated with the 2021 Leesburg Bikefest.

     Scheduled closings are as follows:

  • All city departments are closed November 11
  • Leesburg City Hall, 501 W. Meadow Street, including Customer Service, City Clerk’s Office, Finance, Human Resources and the City Manager’s Office is closed November 11-12.
  • Municipal Services Center at 204 N. 5th Street, which includes the Building Department, Planning and Zoning, Purchasing, IT and GIS Departments is closed November 11-12.
  • Leesburg Public Library, 100 E. Main Street, will close at 7:00pm Wednesday, November 10 and remain closed throughout the weekend. The book drop will also be closed during this time. The library will grant an extension for all materials due back during the weekend of Bikefest. The adjusted due date for those materials will be Monday, November 15.

     There will be no garbage, yard waste, or recycling collection on Thursday, November 11. As a result, residential and hand commercial solid waste regularly scheduled for pick up on Thursday will be picked up on Monday, November 15. Recyclables will be collected on the next regularly scheduled recycling pick up day. There will be no change for dumpster service. Normal collection schedules will be followed on Friday, November 12.
