Chief Iozzi was appointed as the Leesburg Police Department, Chief of Police in May of 2024 and has provided dedicated service to the citizens of Leesburg since 1994.  During that time, he has worked in multiple Bureaus, Divisions, and Units.   As a command officer since 2014, he has served as Bureau Commander in Uniformed Services and Special Services & Investigations.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia College.  He has completed the FBI National Academy’s 281st Session and the Southern Police Institute’s 127th Administrative Officers Course at the University of Louisville.  He has also completed the Florida Police Chief’s Association’s “Future Chiefs” seminar.

Chief Iozzi applies direct leadership concepts, with accessibility and accountability to all citizens.  He has served our diverse community with critical thinking skills and creative problem-solving dynamics.  He believes in community-oriented policing and has developed cohesive relationships with citizens, business owners, elected officials, and community stakeholders throughout his career.  He employs modern policing in all community-driven objectives and his experience has resulted in positive outcomes for our department and citizens.

Chief Iozzi is well-known and respected throughout the Region, State, and Country.  He is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Florida Police Chiefs Association, and the West Central Florida Police Chiefs Association.
