Work under the supervision of the City Manager. Responsible for supervising staff of the City’s Electric Department, establishing long-range plans, developing policy and procedures, managing electric utility activities and events, preparing budgets, evaluating, documenting and reporting on events and activities to senior management and elected or appointed officials. Accountability for electric substation design, installation, operations and maintenance; and design and maintenance of the electric distribution system. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field and eight (8) years of progressively responsible management experience within an electric utility or any combination of relevant education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Professional Engineer registration with the State of Florida within four (4) years of employment preferred. Requires a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment.
