This is skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of pumping and distribution equipment. This employee performs skilled work in the maintenance of pumps, motors, automated metering, buildings, grounds, valves, hydrants, service lines, mains and any other related utility equipment. This employee works under general supervision and must use independent judgment concerning methods of repair after receiving oral or written orders regarding a complaint or problem in the utility system. The employee's work is primarily reviewed through evaluation of results. Must have prior experience in the operation and repair of a water/reuse utility system. Must possess a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment. Must obtain a valid State of Florida Class B CDL permit within the three (3) months of hire and obtain a valid State of Florida Class B CDL with six (6) months of hire date. It is the employee’s responsibility to obtain the required licenses within the allotted time. DEP Water Distribution Operator Level 3 preferred.
