Incentive and Rebate Program

The City of Leesburg has recently launched a new incentive and rebate program in hopes to reduce unnecessary water waste. The program targets homes with water consuming fixtures installed prior to 1994. Outdated fixtures installed before this time allow for excessive water waste, because those fixtures do not meet the standards established in the Energy Policy Act. The program also targets homes that have inefficient irrigation systems. Over fifty percent of potable water used within the City is due to residential irrigation. By upgrading inefficient irrigation systems and repairing broken pipes, customers will ultimately save money on their utility bill each month as well as saving Florida’s potable water supply

Rebate process

  • Prior to making a purchase, customers who wish to upgrade their plumbing fixture or irrigation system should contact the Water Conservation Coordinator of the Leesburg Public Works Department at 352-435-9442 or by email at Public.Works@leesburgflorida.gov to determine funding availability and request an assessment at the customers residence.
  • The customer will then submit an application for pre-approval.
  • An on-site assessment will be performed while the homeowner is present to ensure program eligibility.
  • Upgrades must be purchased by the customer, installed and a final inspection must be scheduled and completed within 60 days of the pre-approval to receive a rebate.
  • Upon the final inspection and approval, a check in the amount of the approved rebate will be mailed to the customer.
