Temporary lane closures on
Dixie Avenue begin July 24th

LEESBURG, FL – Contractors for Leesburg’s Public Works Department will begin work refurbishing landscaping in the medians on Dixie Avenue on Monday, July 24.  Intermittent lane closures will be set up on Dixie Avenue from East Main Street to 9th Street while this work is ongoing.

Starting on Monday, July 24 and continuing through Friday, July 28 from 9:00am to 3:00pm one east bound lane or one west bound lane of Dixie Avenue will be closed for up to 15 minutes at a time to allow for materials to be loaded and unloaded onto medians. These lane closures will be set up for each work area as the project progresses from median to median.

Every effort will be made to limit inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians. The road closures are to ensure the safety of motorists, pedestrians and workers. Drivers are encouraged to follow all temporary traffic control signage and adhere to the posted speed limit.

For additional information on this project, please contact the Leesburg Public Works Department at 352-435-9442.
