Job Description:
The City of Leesburg is seeking a Deputy Director of Electric to supervise staff and assist the department director in overseeing the City’s Electric Department. Has primary accountability for electric substation designs, installation, operations and maintenance; and design and maintenance of the electric distribution system. The class is responsible for supervising staff, establishing long range plans, developing policy and procedures, managing electric utility activities and events, preparing budgets, evaluating, documenting and reporting on events and activities to senior management and elected or appointed officials. Researches and formulates long range goals for the organization; develops policy and position papers and negotiates with chief administrative officer and/or elected officials.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field and eight years of progressively responsible management experience within an electric utility.
The City of Leesburg offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits package. Salary is commensurate with experience. Annual salary range $65,873 - $96,720.
