Job Description:
The Director of Finance reports directly to the City Manager and is responsible for managing financial and administrative functions. This includes preparing the budget; conducting financial analysis and preparing financial reports; developing and implementing an effective system of accounting; managing the payroll system. The purpose of the class is highly responsible administrative, supervisory and professional accounting position. Work also involves accounting, treasury management, budget administration, auditing, tax administration, utility billing and collection, and data processing. The employee plans, organizes and supervises a large and diversified staff of accounting, clerical, and field personnel.
SALARY: $90,000 - $100,000 ANNUALLY
Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Public Administration, Business or Public Finance. Prefer certification from Government Finance Officer Association, CPA and Certified Public Manager. Requires ten (10) years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in municipal accounting, finance, investments and budget work.
